-Timo Alakotila enjoys an illustrious career in Finland and worldwide as musician/performer (piano,
harmonium), composer, arranger and producer with countless artists in the fields of folk music,
classical, contemporary, chamber music, jazz, big band, opera, ballet, choral music, pop music and
more. He has been a member of bands JPP, Maria Kalaniemi Aldargaz, Troka, UNTO Tango
Orchestra and has produced and arranged for artists such as Tsuumi, SIBA Folk Big Band,
Johanna Juhola, Pekka Kuusisto, Rajaton, Meta 4, Catriona McDonald, Karen Tweed, BBC
Concert Orchestra, UMO Big Band, Panu Savolainen to name a few. His music, performances and
works have appeared on over two-hundred fifty albums.
-Tokyo based accordionist / composer Yuka Fujino has had a diverse and varied career for over
thirty years releasing solo works and albums with artists/ensembles such as Oofujitsubo, Akihisa
Tsuboy, Bellow Bears, Riquisimo, Invisible Garden and Jabara Sisters. She has participated in
numerous Japanese game productions and recordings for a wide variety of artists in various fields
such as film, commercials, radio and theater. Yuka has also performed in projects of renowned
game music composer Yasunori Mitsuda including the Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert – The
Beginning and the End and Chrono Cross 20th Anniversary Live Tour 2019 Radical Dreamers.
-Timo and Yuka met in Tokyo in 2022 and began discussions about collaboration based on
mutually aligned attitudes towards the art of composition. Demos were shared online during early
2023 followed by rehearsals, concerts and recordings in Finland in summer 2023. The duo album
Seiras (rough meaning: Blue Wind or Dream of the Blue Wind) features compositions by both
artists and is released in Finland and Japan in January 2024 by Åkerö Records. A Japanese tour is
planned for April 2024.
Seiras is released on CD and all streaming platforms January 12, 2024
